According to MLB.com’s Mark Bowman, the Braves and Cubs are among the teams interested in free-agent pitcher Ryne Stanek. Across 16 1/3 innings pitched with the Mets last season, Stanek posted a 6.06 ERA. His season ERA was 4.88 in 55 1/3 innings.

According to MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo, Mets third baseman Brett Baty will change his No. 7, opening up No. 22 for outfielder Juan Soto.

Speaking to reporters at “Amazin’ Day,” former Mets skipper Bobby Valentine broke down how managing a major team has changed over the years. Over seven seasons serving as the Mets manager (1996-2002), Valentine compiled a 536-467 (.534) record.
