Carson Williams headlines the list of nine players

The Tampa Bay Rays have landed nine players on Baseball Prospectus rankings of the top 101 prospects in the game entering the 2025 season.

Here are where those 9 players ranked:

7. Carson Williams
57. Brody Hopkins
60. Jackson Baumeister
67. Xavier Isaac
69. Dominic Keegan
70. Brayden Taylor
87. Theo Gillen
89. Trevor Harrison
94. Ty Johnson

It’s an interesting mix of players with 2/3rds being home grown talent and the remaining 1/3rd being acquired at the 2024 trade deadline. The Rays, with 9 players being ranked, feature the most of any club in baseball. The Rays feature 8 prospects from the 57th through 94th spots on the rankings.

Carson Williams has been the linchpin atop the Rays rankings for the better part of a year, with his prospect stock rising throughout the game. He has been vaulted into the top 10’s of many prospect publications and Baseball Prospectus agreed as they slotted him as the 7th best prospect in all of baseball.

Baseball Prospectus released their top 10 Rays prospect list back in November, so it’s no surprise how high they are on Brody Hopkins and Jackson Baumeister, two players the Rays acquired at the 2024 trade deadline in separate deals. Xavier Isaac continues to be a mainstay on rankings list, as does Brayden Taylor, but they are joined by catcher Dominic Keegan who seems to be developing into one of the Rays best catching prospects of all-time.

To round out the list, the Rays have their 2024 1st round selection Theo Gillen at 87th. Trevor Harrison, who dazzled scouts in his first professional season, at 89th, and then another 2024 deadline acquisition, Ty Johnson at 94th overall.
