African Championships to qualify two teams for WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup 2025
Six teams will compete for two spots in the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup 2025 at the African Youth Championships, which will take place from January 9 to 12 at the Western Cape Sport School in Kuilsrivers, Cape Town, South Africa.
World No. 5 Tunisia, No. 8 South Africa, No. 13 Ghana, No. 15 Kenya, No.40 Zimbabwe, and No. 48 Lesotho qualified through three regional tournaments in 2024. They will compete in a round-robin tournament through January 11. The top four finishers will advance to the semifinals.
The number three seed will play number one, and the number four finisher will play number two on January 12. The winners will advance to the Championship Game and the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup.
The WBSC Executive Board recently approved the expansion of the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup and the WBSC Baseball5 World Cup. The WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup will include 16 participating teams.
No. 7 Lithuania, No. 12 Türkiye and No. 3 France qualified through the European Championship 2024. Eight teams will advance through the Continental Qualifiers.

Mexico will host the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup 2025. The host city and dates will be announced later.
The hosts and World No. 6 Mexico and two wild cards will complete the 16 participants.
