Around the league...
- According to Sam Blum at the Athletic, Angels owner Arte Moreno and team chairman Dennis Kuhl failed to comply with a subpoena for discovery in the wrongful death civil suit brought against the Angels organization by the family of Tyler Skaggs. Moreno and Kuhl reportedly insist that no relevant documents exist, and that other parties are providing all relevant documentation anyway, but this argument has not satisfied the discovery referee. The Angels could now face financial sanctions until compliance standards are met.
- The Toronto Blue Jays reportedly made a contract offer to switch hitting outfielder Anthony Santander yesterday.
- Mark Polishuk at MLB Trade Rumors put together a comprehensive list at how all American League teams have added or subtracted to strengthen their weakest position.
Nick’s pick...
- Cut down in his prime. R.I.P. to a legend.
