The 2025 coaching staff is announced by the Seattle Mariners

Official designation for the new crew of Dan the Man.

The Seattle Mariners announced their full 2025 coaching staff on Tuesday, less than 24 hours after Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reported that their crew would include a pair of new hitting coaches to assist in their efforts to rejuvenate their offense. The new staff is as follows:

Behind manager Dan Wilson, there are a few new faces on the position player end of things. Former M’s minor leaguer and minor league coach with the Everett AquaSox, Louis Boyd takes on the role of Field Coordinator, a role that is involved in defensive positioning, among other aspects. Boyd was also a guest on the podcast for the site a lifetime ago while still a prospect.

Also from the minor league ranks comes Eric Young Jr., a well-respected recent big leaguer whose transition to coaching came after he concluded his affiliated career in 2019 with the Tacoma Rainiers. The speedy outfielder has the distinct acclaim of having spent a decade in the big leagues, something incredibly enough both he and his father were able to muster. The speedy outfielder was the first base coach for the Rainiers in 2021, before spending a couple seasons in the same role with the Washington Nationals. He’ll now occupy the same spot in Seattle.

Rerurning to a past role is Manny Acta, taking on the bench coach role, with Kristopher Negrón snagging third base coach responsibilities. The departure of Carson Vitale to join the Miami Marlins staff preceded that shuffle, but along with the new hitting coaching arrangement, that concludes the shifts. The entire pitching staff remains constant.
