Morning Briefing: Steinbrenner Hears Soto Noise

0 4

Good morning, Mets fans!

Juan Soto has had a busy week in California as he has met with several teams, including the New York Mets. However, the team he made the World Series with last season will not go down quietly, as Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner talked to the media after his meeting with Soto.

While the Yankees owner didn’t go into great detail, he did mention that the meeting lasted a couple of hours and went well. When asked about the pressure to bring the slugger back, Steinbrenner said, “I’ve got ears. I know what’s expected of me,” per Tim Healey of Newsday. The courting of the coveted free agent has just begun and will only continue to heat up.
