Francisco Lindor Wins 2024 Silver Slugger Award
Francisco Lindor‘s 2024 season will go down as one of the best from a position player in Mets history. He slashed .273/.344/.500/.844 with 33 home runs, 107 RBIs, 29 stolen bases, and a 137 wRC+. He was the rock of the 2024 Mets on and off the field. His offense, along with his elite play at shortstop, allowed him to accumulate 7.8 fWAR, one of the top marks in team history.
Currently, Lindor is off in Los Angeles recruiting Juan Soto to play with the Mets. But as he helps make his pitch, it was announced Tuesday that Lindor has won the Silver Slugger Award for National League shortstops—his second year in a row winning the award and fourth of his career.
The award, voted on by coaches and managers, recognizes the “best offensive producers at each position.”
Lindor is also an MVP finalist and is expected to finish in second place for the award behind Shohei Ohtani. He was not a finalist for the Gold Glove, despite metrics ranking him as one of the best in MLB. Oh, and he still hasn’t made an All-Star Game as a Met.
Willy Adames and Elly De La Cruz finished second and third among NL shortstops. Pete Alonso was a finalist for the first baseman award but finished behind Bryce Harper, who won, and Freddie Freeman.

And, for one more good measure, rewatch Lindor’s Atlanta home run. I was there. The best live sporting event I’ve ever witnessed.
