MLB news roundup

The day is here, everyone. The day we all hoped would never come. The last day that our Athletics will take the field at the Oakland Coliseum before leaving town. Off to Sacramento for a few years before taking their act to Las Vegas. The last thing any of us wanted. Maybe there will be time later to write the words but not today. Today is just about saying goodbye in person, one last time.

Word’s just don’t describe the loss of your favorite team. We didn’t secure the win in last night’s middle game but the club can still send the Coliseum out with a series win with a victory today. If you are attending this afternoon’s game, first of all lucky. Second of all, please be respectful to the staff and stadium. They’ve been there for the good times and the bad and don’t deserve the rough treatment some people may feel they need to inflict. And the Coliseum itself, our church for all of our lives, doesn’t deserve to get trashed as John Fisher steals our club.

And finally, enjoy the last day of Oakland Athletics baseball everyone. It’s sad that this is happening but be glad we got to enjoy the ride while it lasted. Next year it’s just Athletics baseball.
