Mariners Game #159, 9/25/24: SEA @ HOU
Almost certainly our last tilt in Houston for the year
Well, last night’s affair wasn’t a fun time, with the Astros clinching the AL West for the fourth consecutive year in front of our Mariners. With postseason hopes all but certainly over, the M’s will look to end the Texas road trip on a high note, with George Kirby on the bump for most likely his final start of the 2024 season.

As expected, the Astros are running out a hangover lineup of sorts, with Shay Whitcomb getting the start at second in place of José Altuve. Old friend Yusei Kikuchi will get the start for Houston, and the M’s will look to hand the Astros their first loss in a game started by the lefty since his acquisition at the deadline.
