Jett Williams Transferred To Triple-A As Binghamton’s Season Ends

0 3

One of the top prospects in the New York Mets’ system is being moved to Triple-A Syracuse. Jett Williams, who has battled injury for the majority of 2024, is set to join Syracuse for the remainder of their season.

Double-A Binghamton, where Williams was playing, saw their season end on Sunday. As a result, Williams will get to face a step up in competition as Syracuse doesn’t see their regular season end until September 22.

Williams has only had 99 at-bats this season, missing a majority of the year due to injury. In 12 at-bats with Low-A St. Lucie during his rehab stint, Williams hit .250. For Double-A Binghamton, Williams struggled, posting a .172/.287/.241 (.528 OPS) slash line across 87 at-bats.

Unfortunately, 2024 should be seen as a “throwaway” year for Williams, as he was unable to get into a groove due to his injury issues. Williams is MMO’s top-ranked prospect. Hopefully, the 20-year-old can find a groove to end the season with Syracuse.
