Following the Mets’ 11-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday, manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters that Francisco Lindor’s availability is “day-to-day” and that there’s a chance he will be back in the lineup on Saturday afternoon.
“I think if it was a closer game, he was going to fight that one,” Mendoza said. “It’s day-to-day. I’m pretty sure he’s gonna want me to put him in the lineup.”

Francisco Lindor exited the Mets’ game in Philadelphia on Friday night during the seventh inning with lower back soreness, the team announced.
The superstar shortstop fouled a pitch off his foot in the sixth inning and he was also looked at by the trainer after he ran the bases. He went into second base standing on a double, but came off the base and was tagged out between second and third base after slipping.
Lindor remained in the game for one more inning to play defense. He left with the Mets leading 7-0 and went 2-for-4 at the plate in the contest.
