Paul Blackburn had a stellar outing in his rehab appearance in a Syracuse loss, and Christopher Suero powered Brooklyn to a win on Tuesday.

Paul Blackburn made what may wind up being his only rehab start and was strong through six and two-third innings, only allowing an earned run on four hits. Tyler Zuber came out for the eighth inning and gave up the lead, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks. Grant Hartwig would allow a solo home run in the ninth inning, but then would settle down and strike out two batters.

Zach Thornton was phenomenal in his outing, only allowing four hits over his five and one-third innings pitched while striking out six. The bullpen came out for the final three and two-third innings and did not allow a hit while striking out five.

The St. Lucie/Clearwater game was suspended in the top of the second inning with the score tied at 2. The game will resume on Wednesday. Colin Houck hit a two-RBI single scoring Marco Vargas and Carson Benge. Brendan Girton made his first professional start and allowed two earned runs on two hits, walking two and striking out one.
