The U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup, formerly known as the Junior Women’s Softball World Championship, has seen USA dominate on the global stage for decades, with the eight-time champions having consistently proven themselves as a dominant force, showcasing unparalleled excellence across multiple editions of the tournament.

With 14 WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup medals (eight gold, five silver, one bronze) to their name, USA are the most successful side in the tournament. Japan, with 13, are the next best while from Group C, Australia and Canada have five and one medal respectively.

Their winning tradition began with a series of gold medal performances in the third and fifth editions of the tournament in 1987 in Oklahoma and 1995 in Normal, USA. The momentum continued with world champion titles in 2007 in Enschede, Netherlands, 2011 in Cape Town, South Africa as well as the last four editions 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021. USA has won six of the past seven editions and out of six editions played on US soil, have only finished off the top podium once when they finished third in Fargo in 1985.
