0 2

Minor League Recap for Friday, August 2nd, 2024

Columbus Clippers 6, Syracuse Mets 5

Box Score · Clippers improve to 51-52

It was the Ray Delgado show, last night. Delgado continues to have an underrated season in AAA, going 3-3 with a 2 run home run. Will Brennan continues to prove that AAA pitching is no match for him, as he raises his batting average to .429 after a 2-4 night. Kyle Manzardo and Juan Brito both went 1-3 with a walk.

Matthew Boyd had a very encouraging rehab start, striking out 5 batters with 0 walks in 3.2 innings pitched, he did allow one earned run, however. He should be pitching for Cleveland very soon.

Lake County Captains 2, Beloit Sky Carp 3

Box Score · Captains fall to 59-39

It was a quiet night offensively for the Captains, Travis Bazzana was not in the lineup, and they went up against a tough lefty in Thomas White. Jorge Burgos and Tyresse Turner were the only two players who had multiple hits.

It was a really well pitched game for the Captains, Dylan Delucia continued his nice return from Tommy John, as he tossed 4.2 innings, striking out 5 and walking 2 while giving up 2 earned runs. Zach Jacobs was nearly flawless in relief, pitching 3.1 innings, giving up no hits while striking out 4 and walking just 1 batter.

Lynchburg Hillcats 7, Fredericksburg Nationals 9

Box Score · Hillcats fall to 52-47

The Hillcats didn’t have a problem scoring runs today, lead by a 3 hit, 2 RBI game from Tommy Hawke. Christian Knapczyk went 2-4 with an RBI single and a walk. Wuilfredo Antunez also had a 2 RBI double.

It was a rough outing for Jogly Garcia, he gave up 6 earned runs on 9 hits in just 3.1 innings pitched. His ERA is up to 11.57 on the season.
