News and Notes for an off day.
After a 6-5 loss to the New York Yankees, the Philadelphia Phillies finally surrender the first place position to the Cleveland Guardians. With the off day yesterday, the Guardians just had to sit back and watch to earn the #1 position. In the American League, the Orioles are one game back from the Guardians with a record of 65-44. The Yankees are one and a half games back in 3rd place.
The Guardians have an upcoming seven game homestand against the Baltimore Orioles and Arizona Diamondbacks. This Saturday, August 3rd, is the Cleveland Baseball Hall of Fame induction of CC Sabathia.
