Game Notes

Before the game, the Mets activated right-handed reliever Huascar Brazobán. They also optioned relievers Matt Gage and Tyler Zuber to Triple-A Syracuse.

Paul Blackburn will make his Mets debut on Friday as the starter vs the Angels.

Reed Garrett hit 97 mph and “looked good” during a live session on Wednesday and will pitch for Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday.

Sean Reid-Foley joins Double-A Binghamton on Wednesday as he continues his rehab assignment.

Two Things To Watch For

  1. J.D. Martinez. For the first time since July 21st / July 22nd, Martinez recorded hits in back-to-back days. Martinez hasn’t been terrible in this stretch, as he has basically alternated days collecting multiple hits and no hits. In his last eight games, he has gone 10-for-32 with two doubles, a homer, and seven RBIs.
  2. Nobody Walks Anymore. Tuesday night’s game was fairly short, clocking in at two hours and 12 minutes. Only two runs were scored, seven hits were recorded, and three walks were worked between both teams. The Mets went from walking seven times on Monday night to only one time Tuesday. The Mets will be facing a starting pitcher tonight who has been pretty good at not giving free passes, with only 25 this season and a 1.9 BB/9 rate.

Let’s go Mets!
