Zuber has been solid in a short stint this season for the Rays, pitching to a 2.70 ERA in 3 1/3 innings pitched. The righty was pitching to a 2.49 ERA in 21 2/3 innings with 29 strikeouts. Before the season started, Zuber was pitching with the Long Island Ducks and signed a minor league deal with the Rays.

Zuber is a fastball pitcher, with a sweeper and cutter as offspeed pitches. He joins Ryne Stanek and Phil Maton as the third Mets bullpen arm added before the deadline.

In return, the Mets sent 24-year-old Gervase back to Tampa. The righty was solid in Double-A, pitching to a 3.25 ERA with 46 strikeouts in 27 2/3 innings. Gervase was drafted by the Mets in the 12th round of the 2022 MLB draft. He was Metsmerized’s Mike Mayer’s No. 34 prospect on the Mets.
