Wake up, babe. New White Sox just dropped.

Happy Tuesday, White Sox friends, and what a crazy day it’s been. The White Sox have relieved themselves of Eloy Jiménez and his hefty remaining contract, and although it may prove to be a good thing for the White Sox, a lot of people will miss his presence on the South Side. Eloy is positive and fun, and if he can get a good trainer and stop getting injured from running, jumping, or coughing, he has the potential to be great.

Never change, Eloy.

Garrett Crochet, Luis Robert Jr., and unfortunately Andrew “tomato boy” Benintendi are still around, despite a rumor that some of us may have fallen for about Benny being a part of a package deal in order to nab Crochet.

“What will it take for you to sell Crochet? Money? Here, take it.”

“No.”

“I don’t understand. This is tens of millions of dollars. What else could you possibly want?”

*a shadow of darkness blankets the room. Everyone shivers. Andrew Benintendi appears in a mist.*

“NOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo!”

So that trade didn’t work.

Paul DeJong switches sides tonight in a trade to the Royals, and Tanner Banks is off to the Phillies. For more details on these 11th hour transactions, read this.

With all the pregame excitement out of the way, let’s set our sights on game two of this three-game series against the Royals that can potentially set new records for the franchise.

Last night, the White Sox tied the franchise record 15-game losing streak (over consecutive seasons) and broke the single-season record. Will they break the all-time record tonight?

Before we peek at the lineup, some roster moves:

Here’s how we’re stacked up tonight:

Miguel Vargas makes his White Sox debut, backing up Jonathan Cannon (1-5, 4.43 ERA). He needs to keep Bobby Witt Jr. (and his 1.400 OPS against him) as far away from the bases as possible if the White Sox want to have a chance at breaking the losing streak.

And for the Royals:

Righty Michael Wacha (7-6, 3.65 ERA) goes for the series win on the mound. The White Sox suck against this guy, and newly-appointed Redbird Tommy Pham was the only one who had his number.

You loyal, steadfast White Sox fans are admirable, and you don’t suffer alone. Let’s suffer together at 7:10 p.m. CST. Tune in on NBC Sports Chicago, or get a much-needed break from Schriffen and listen on AM 1000.
