WBSC U-18 Women's Softball World Cup Group A - Play-Offs Day Live Blog
Time for definitions at the WBSC U-18 Women's Softball World Cup. At the end of the day, we will know the first two teams to advance to the Finals 2025. Chinese Taipei, New Zealand, Czechia and Great Britain qualified for the Play-Offs after an exciting Opening Round, which remained undecided until the very last pitch.
At 1pm, European rivals Czechia and Great Britain will lock horns in a win-or-go-home game. The winner of this third vs fourth place finishers game will advance to the Repechage at 7pm.
The first ticket to the Finals 2025 will be awarded to the winner of the Final between Chinese Taipei and New Zealand, numbers one and two in the Opening Round. The game is scheduled at 4pm. The loser of this game will play against the winner of the third vs fourth game.
At 10am, neighbours Brazil and Colombia will play for the fifth place in Group A.

Colombia 5 - 4 Brazil
Top 5th - Back to back doubles by Audrey Lum and Sofia Villa give Colombia a 5-4 lead.
Bottom 4th - The Mie Nishi Stadium goes crazy. Brazil tie the game with a clutch two-out, two-run single by pitcher Amanda Handa to center field. The game is now 4-4.
Bottom 3rd - Brazil react with a pair of runs. After two quick outs, Brazil put together a string of three hits, with singles by Amanda Handa and Ana Luiza Saito and a two-run double from Maria Julia Pedroso. The game is now 4-2.
Top 3rd - Audrey Lum and Francela Verdura singled, leaving runners in the corners and one out. A sac fly from Angelly Benitez plated the fourth Colombian run. They are winning 4-0 now.
Top 2nd - Francela Vardura and Jazmin Mejia reached base on a single and a walk. A two out dropped foul ball allowed them to score the first two runs of the game. Brooke Zuluaga drove in Sophia Loreto to make it 3-0.
