2024 MLB All-Star Game open thread

The Royals have four players in the Midsummer Classic.

Tonight MLB will host its 94th annual All-Star Game to be played at Globe Life Park in Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers. The American League leads the all-time series 47-44 with two ties, although the National League finally snapped a nine-game losing streak last year.

The Royals have four representatives, the seventh time they have sent that many players to the All-Star Game and the first time since 2016. Catcher Salvador Perez is making his ninth visit to the All-Star Game, while shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. and pitchers Cole Ragans and Seth Lugo are all first-timers.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy has tabbed Orioles pitcher Corbin Burnes to start for the American League squad. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo will go with Pirates rookie Paul Skenes on the bump.
