WBSC Official Rules of Baseball & Baseball World Cups Tournament Regulations update

<p>Updated versions of the <a href="https://static.wbsc.org/uploads/federations/0/cms/documents/fcd27147-ec29-c7df-2c24-89455fa4e064.pdf">WBSC Official Rules of Baseball</a> and the <a href="https://static.wbsc.org/uploads/federations/0/cms/documents/84c93467-7438-c6b9-5a72-6d2419e95abf.pdf">WBSC Baseball World Cups Tournament Regulations</a> are now online following rule changes approved by the <a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/news/executive-board-approves-rule-changes-to-youth-wbsc-baseball-world-cups">WBSC Executive Board</a> in April. </p>

<p>The rule changes see the pitch limit for the U-12, U-15 and U-18 Baseball World Cups now being cumulative each day to further protect young athletes, giving more rest days in case a pitcher gets to the mound for three consecutive days.</p>

<p>Three changes also apply specifically to the <a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/organisation/wbsc-events/u-12-baseball-world-cup">WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup</a>, which sees the removal of the re-entry rule and the designated hitter. The Bat Performance Factor (BPF) has also been lowered from 1.15 to 1, which matches the BPF of one-piece wooden bats.</p>

<p>The WBSC Baseball World Cups Tournament Regulations also includes important updates to the doping control procedures (A5); conduct, infractions, fines and suspensions (A7); appeals (B4) and the Delivery of Notices (B5).</p>

<p>The first WBSC Baseball World Cup to feature the new rules and regulations will be the <a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/events/2024-ix-womens-baseball-world-cup-finals/home">WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Finals 2024 presented by CARNEXT</a>, the first of four baseball events remaining in the <a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/calendar/2024/baseball">WBSC 2024 international season</a>.</p>
