A’s - Twins Rained Out, Split Double Header Sunday

The A’s finally found a way not to lose a game on this road trip: rain has postponed Saturday’s game. A split doubleheader is scheduled for Sunday. -Nico

The Oakland Athletics haven’t won a game in over a week, with their most recent kryptonite being late game execution. A once lethal bullpen has consistently struggled to seal close games and it doesn’t feel like there’s light at the end of the tunnel with so many close games requiring a lot of work from our best guys.

The A’s are just two games away from a much needed off-day and will hope to minimize the need for early relief action. Today’s starter Joey Estes is a great candidate to help the team accomplish that as he’s exhibited surprising stamina in his young career so far. The Minnesota Twins will counter with righty Bailey Ober, whose peripherals indicate he’s been much better than his 5.13 ERA suggests.

J.D. Davis gets a rare start at 3B against a righty today, pushing Abraham Toro over to second. Dax Cameron’s also filling in for the still cold Seth Brown.
