A clean sweep in the minors, with Kannapolis set for a doubleheader on Sunday

Charlotte Knights 5, Durham Bulls 3 (Gameday Box) (Statcast Box)
The Bulls jumped ahead early in the game, scoring quickly in the first, but the Knights offense was ready to snap back. Jake Woodford kept Durham at bay, even with six hits and three strikeouts. He gave up three runs, but the bullpen held down the fort for the rest of the game.

Oscar Colás added some insurance runs in the eighth, and that honestly all the Knights needed to finish out with a W.

The bullpen combined for zero hits and six K’s, with enough offensive support to hold on for the win.

Birmingham Barons 2, Chattanooga Lookouts 0 (Gameday box) (Statcast box)
The Barons completed a 2-0 shutout, thanks to another incredible 5 2⁄3 innings from Drew Thorpe, only giving up one hit, two walks, and struck out seven. He would work out the win, but thankfully the bullpen kept the Lookouts down for the rest of the game.

Brooks Baldwin smashed a solo bomb in the bottom of the fourth, putting the Barons up one in the tight contest. Good news is Jason Matthews drove in another run on an RBI single, holding the lead for the Barons to close it out.

Winston-Salem Dash 6, Greenville Drive 3 (Gameday box) (Statcast box)
The Dash provided the run support to their pitchers in effort to snag the win, and the plan was executed flawlessly. They scored a quick two in the first two innings. and while the Drive did tie it up in the third, the Dash offense was poised to respond.

Noah Schultz went for a solid four innings, giving up three hits for two runs, walking on and striking out four — though José Ramírez flashed enough leather to get the win on Saturday.

Jacob Gonzalez, Shawn Goosenberg, and Bryce Willits all produced strong performances from the offensive side. They went a collective 7-for-15, with both Willits and Goosenberg mashing doubles. The offense did plenty alongside the bullpen to get the W against Greenville.

Fayetteville Woodpeckers 2, Kannapolis Cannon Ballers 0 (SUSPENDED) (Gameday box) (Statcast box)

The weather was too much for Kannapolis, as the game ultimately was suspended after two innings. The Woodpeckers were up, 2-0, although the Cannon Ballers have plenty of chances to make up the runs ... let’s see how it goes tomorrow!

ACL White Sox 6, ACL Rangers 5 (Gameday Box)
In a crazy contest, the White Sox jumped out to a 5-0 lead after three, only to see the Rangers rally for five in the fourth. And in the end, the ACL White Sox did just enough to get the win over the ACL Rangers.

The first couple of White Sox pitchers, Jordany Chirinos and Carlos Hinestroza struggled with walks and keeping runners off of the bases.

Geroge Wolkow and Abraham Nuñez had strong offensive outings, driving in two of the six runs and going 5-for-7 combined.

The Sox would score the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh, and Carlton Perkins racked up the save.
