A’s vs. Rangers game two thread

Let’s play two!

Hope you didn’t go anywhere. After beating the Rangers in game one handily, the A’s will go for the double header sweep. Two wins in the same day would feel great. The game should get going within the hour of game one ending.

Right-hander Osvaldo Bido is on the mound for the Athletics today. He’ll be making his season and A’s debut after a quality start to the year down at Triple-A. With fellow starter Joe Boyle out, Bido could earn another start or two with a quality outing today.

Here’s the lineup that’ll be backing him up:

As you can see, Schuemann is back at shortstop after a good first game in the field. We’ll also be treated to Tyler Soderstrom’s first game with the A’s in 2024. He’s batting eighth ahead of Brett Harris.

The lineup will be facing rookie right-hander Jack Leiter for only his second MLB appearance. He didn’t impress in his debut against the Detroit Tigers as he allowed seven runs in 3 ²⁄₃ innings. The A’s will be hoping to see that same Leiter today here in game two.
