Sena Catterall, Alizée Gélinas and Raine Padgham to represent Canada in Australian Women's Baseball Showcase

<p>Baseball Canada congratulated Sena Catterall, Alizée Gélinas, and Raine Padgham on their confirmed participation in the Australian Women's Baseball Showcase, which will be held <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="from 9 to 12 May (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/news/third-australian-womens-baseball-showcase-confirmed-for-may-beacom-signs-for-us-college-baseball" target="_blank">from 9 to 12 May</a> at the Albert Park Baseball Complex in Lismore, New South Wales.</p>

<p>Catterall, who made her National Team debut in 2019, played centre field for Canada at the <a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/events/2023-ix-womens-baseball-world-cup-group-a/teams/25342/players/309524">IX WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Group A</a> in 2023. She helped Canada qualify for the finals posting a .455 batting average</p>

<p>Gélinas, who can play both infield corner positions and pitch, made her National Team debut in 2021. She started three games for Canada at last year's <a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/events/2023-ix-womens-baseball-world-cup-group-a/teams/25342/players/309512">World Cup group stage tournament</a>.</p>

<p>Padgham, who has also played for Canada since 2021, was Canada's ace at the IX<a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/events/2023-ix-womens-baseball-world-cup-group-a/teams/25342/players/309547"> WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Group A</a>. She earned two wins, including the opening game against Mexico. She also made an impact offensively, going 3-for-7.</p>

<p>This is the second time Canadian Women’s Baseball National Team members have travelled to Australia for the showcase. In <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="2022 (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/news/victoria-aces-win-australian-womens-baseball-showcase-genevieve-beacom-shines-in-final" target="_blank">2022</a>, Claire Eccles, Alexane Fournier and Alli Schroder took part.</p>
