Ean Eu, Shun Cheoh home runs highlight Singapore's first tournament win against Team WBSC
An Ean Eu grand slam and a Shun Cheoh three-run homer ignited Singapore’s big two-inning surge that highlighted their 11-0 defeat of Team WBSC on Friday. The Asian team grabbed their first win in the WBSC U-23 Men's Softball World Cup with a four-inning game victory on Day 2 of the Placement Round.
Singapore exploded with six runs in the top of the second inning. With the bases loaded, Ean Eu connected a grand slam to give his team a 4-0 lead. Singapore added two more on a pair of bases-loaded walk.
Singapore added five more runs in the fourth frame, including a three-run homer by Shun Cheoh and a two-run single by Yu Tien.
Jeron Tan struck out eight in four innings giving up three hits and a walk. He earned the win for Singapore.
