[Indoor Track and Field] Indoor Track & Field Falcons compete at Steve Miller Invitational ...
Manhattan, Kan. – The Friends University Indoor Track & Field Falcons tuned up one more time ahead of the upcoming NAIA National Championship meet by participating in the Steve Miller Invitational at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan.
The Falcons put their best foot forward, highlighted by Brynna Halata (SO/Friendswood, Texas) setting the school record in the Women's Pole Vault with a mark of 3.35m. The effort narrowly bests Makayla Hollis' 3.34m performance in the 2019 season.
A couple of solid 4 X 400 relay performances were also in store for the Falcons, as the unit of Halle Nagel (SO/Ulysses, Kan.), Kaylah Petty (SO/Saint Louis, Mo.), Kourtney Warren (SO/Temple Terrace, Fla.) and Kendra Blaylock (SO/Blue Ridge, Texas) posted a runner-up finish in the women's race that is the eighth best mark in program history.
On the men's side, Trystan Wright (FR/Murray, Ky. ), Cooper Clawson (FR/Amarillo, Texas), Dectrick Edwards (JR/Spring, Texas) and Blake Balch (FR/Elgin, Okla. ) finished on top with a time of 3:22.60 that was just .11 seconds from hitting the national qualifying standard.
Both Falcon squads will now focus on final preparations for the NAIA meet, set for Mar. 2-4 in Brookings, S.D.
