[Track & Field] Bears Bring Back Four National Standards and 2 School Records
The Track and Field team brought back 4 NAIA National standards and 2 school records from Grand Valley State University this weekend. The weekend started off with Jozi Brown (SR/McConnelsville, Ohio) running 18:15.44 in the 5k on Friday, hitting the B standard for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Brown placed 14th in her heat. Hunter Hoover (SR/Waverly, OH) followed Brown with another B standard in the 5k. Hoover finished 16th in his heat with a time of 14:59.18. Aiden Kammler (JR/Portsmouth, Ohio) had the top performance on Friday running 14:32.95 in the 5k while finishing 11th in his heat. Not only did Kammler break the school record for the indoor 5k, but Kammler also hit the A standard by almost 20 seconds. Other highlights from Friday: Alex Morris (SO/Wheelersburg, Ohio) ran 15:41.66 in the 5k, Dylan French (SO/Coal Grove, OH) ran 15:43.94 in the 5k, Malachi Shugert (SO/Rossford, Ohio) ran 16:15.85 in the 5k, Logan Boggs (JR/Ironton, Ohio) ran 16:21.66 in the 5k, McKenna Pannell ran 20:11.31 in the 5k, Cody Booth (SR) ran 4:20.03 in the mile, and Mason Blizzard (SO/South Webster, Ohio) ran 1:24.91 in the 600m race.
