[Track & Field] Track & Field Opens Up Season at the Marietta Open

The women's and men's track & field teams started their season this past Friday at the Marietta Open meet. The women's team placed 5th out of 6th teams and the men's team placed 6th out of 8 teams. On the women's side, in the 3000m race, Sydney Reed placed 2nd with a time of 11:49.84. Following Reed, Deanna Hall (SR/Proctorville, Ohio) placed 3rd with a time of 11:51.40 and Elizabeth Middleton (FR/Olive Hill, Kentucky) placed 5th with a time of 12:17.48. In the mile, Mikella Meddock (JR/Ashville, Ohio) finished 2nd with a time of 5:56.01. In the 800m race, Shari Ritchey (FR/Wooster, Ohio) finished 5th with a time of 2:42.98 and Sarah Letchford (SO) finished 7th with a time of 2:57.54. In the 400m race, Kirsten Evans (FR/Jackson, Ohio) ran a 1:10.97 finishing in 7th place.
