[Men's Track & Field] Franklin Wins 60m Hurdles at Brady Invite for SXU Men's Track & Field
Angola, Ind. – Sophomore Lendale Franklin (Chicago, Ill./Roosevelt/Argo Community) won the 60m Hurdles Finals for the first time in his collegiate career with a school record time of 8.40 seconds, just two one-hundredths of a second off the NAIA 'B' standard for the Saint Xavier University men's track & field team Saturday afternoon at the Sean Brady Invitational hosted by Trine University (Ind.) in Angola, Ind. He qualified in the preliminaries with a time of 8.71 seconds and broke his own record of 8.46 seconds set at the Indiana Tech University Invite on December 10, 2021. Franklin becomes the second Cougar to win the event, as his former teammate Adell Hilson (2019-22) won the race with a mark of 8.61 at the Windy City Rumble in Chicago, Ill. on February 8, 2020. Overall, SXU finished 11th out of 14 teams with 21 points. Marian University (Ind.) won the meet with 195 points.
