2023 Internship Application Window Now Open
If you are a young professional who is looking to gain valuable hands-on experience with one of the most unique summer collegiate baseball franchises in the county, then the Edenton Steamers are exactly what you are looking for! With our 2023 season quickly approaching, we are eager to fill our front office staff for what is sure to be another excellent season in Edenton!
Our 2022 season was arguably the best all-around season that we have seen in our 25-year history. Not only did we finish our season by winning the Premier Collegiate League Championship, but we also saw our best business season ever! Recording breaking sales numbers in tickets, concessions, beer, and merchandise. As well as our highest attendance numbers in over a decade. The Steamers are on the rise, and you don’t want to miss your chance to be a part of it!
We have four internship positions available. All of these positions will begin on May 15th and run through the completion of our season in early August. These are paid positions, and all interns will receive free housing via a host family (unless interns are local and otherwise would not require a host family).
Here is a brief overview of what each position entails for our potential applicants:
Director of Broadcasting & Media Relations
Become “The Voice of the Edenton Steamers” by broadcasting all of our games through YouTube. Not only will you gain valuable experience with broadcasting, but you will also have to become familiar with research and writing for game notes and press releases.
Director of Game Day Operations
Become “The Straw that Stirs the Drink” by overseeing our entire concessions operation. You will be responsible for ordering, inventorying, and stocking all of our concession’s food and beverage. The cleanliness and appearance of Historic Hicks Field will also be of the utmost importance. You will also gain valuable experience as a leader, as you will be responsible for overseeing our game night staff employees.
Director of Marketing & Promotions
Become “The Promotional Mastermind” by creating and managing all of our social media content. You will join our players as they make public appearances around the community. Not only will you be responsible for our image outside of the ballpark, but you will be responsible for the inside as well. You will be the on-field personality that interacts with fans every night with between inning games.
Director of Group Sales
Become “The Gate Keeper” by communicating with and overseeing all groups that come into Historic Hicks Field. These groups include any large batch of tickets for group outings, picnics, or birthday parties. You will also oversee the hundreds of kids that attend our baseball camps during the summer, and the hundreds more that enjoy membership in our Kids Club.
