[Volleyball] SXU Ends Season with 3-2 Defeat to Cornerstone at Nationals

Sioux City, Iowa – The No. 3 seed Saint Xavier University women's volleyball team (24-10/15-2 CCAC) saw its 2022 season come to an end Thursday afternoon after a 3-2 setback to No. 2 Cornerstone University (Mich.) in Pool A of the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship Tournament at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa. The loss eliminates the Cougars after making their third trip to Sioux City in the last six seasons. Senior outside hitter Molly Hackett (Frankfort, Ill./UNC Asheville/Mercer/Lincoln-Way East) led the SXU attack with a career-best 26 kills, along with five digs and a block. Her 26 kills are the most since former NAIA All-American Nadia Atton (2019-21) had 28 kills last season in a five-set win over University of Michigan-Dearborn on October 8, 2021.
