WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Falcons were upended today by the top-seeded and No. 6-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles 6-0 in the KCAC semifinal round today (Nov. 9) at Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita.

The Eagles remain unbeaten with the win and will face third-seeded Southwestern College in the conference championship game on Saturday (Nov. 12). Southwestern knocked off the second-seeded Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes 2-0 following the Falcons' match.

OKWU struck early and often behind a first half hat trick from Naroa Domenech, who scored goals in the 11th, 21st and 36th minutes to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead at the break.

The Falcons held off the Eagles through the early stages of the second stanza until goals from Tania Mocholi, Domenech and Joelle Meister came in a furious two-minute frenzy by OKWU to cap the scoring at the 69:38 mark.

OKWU outshot the Falcons 24-6 overall and 11-4 on-goal. Keily Larosee (SO/Las Vegas, Nev.) led the Falcons with two shots.

Maria Smyth (JR/Fairplay, S.C.) stopped five shots for the Falcons before giving way to Sharon Ngibuini (JR/Topeka, Kan. ) for the final 8:27 of the match.

Nerea Perez Mora recorded four saves for the Eagles (19-0-1).

Under ninth-year head coach Brent Hobson, the Falcons finish the 2022 season at 10-6-3 overall, marking the fourth time in the past five seasons the program has reached double-digit victories.
