[Tennis] ITA Academic Honors Announced
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced their 2022 academic award for NAIA tennis and Doane placed 13 players and two teams on the lists. To receive the honors, individuals must have a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) during the academic year while the team award requires a 3.2 GPA for the academic year.
The Tiger women placed eight on this year's list with the men placing five on the award list. The women were one of 41 teams to be honored on the All-Academic Team list while the men were one of 29 teams recognized.
Receiving the Women's Scholar-Athlete honor from the ITA were Katelyn Jindra (SR/Crete, Neb.), Ashlyn Kucera (SO/Grand Island, Neb.), Nina Ngo (SR/Crete, Neb.), Daniella Ruiz-Martinez (GR/Omaha, Neb.), Cierra Schwarzkopf (SO/Scottsbluff, Neb.), Liz van der Torre (SR/Greeley, Colo.), Brylee Lauby (GR/Lexington, Neb.), and Ava Macke (GR/Omaha, Neb.).
For the men, Sam Coy (GR/Lincoln, Neb.), Josh Grosvenor (JR/Grand Island, Neb.), Brandon Linhart (SR/Omaha, Neb.), Jose Purizaca (SO/Lima, Peru), and Jonathan Szwaja (GR/Loveland, Colo.) received this year's honor.
