[Softball] Medina Records Fourth Win of the Season in Split with MCU

SANTEE, Calif – The San Diego Christian College softball team split Friday's doubleheader with Marymount California University, dropping game one 0-9 in six innings and then rebounding for a game two victory 2-1.

Game 1

The Hawk offense struggled to get on base, generating only two hits in the game. The team did get their bat to the ball as not a single SDCC batter took a strikeout.

Game 2

The San Diego Christian offense continued to struggle in game two but was able to get just enough runs for Hawks ace, Amaryssa Medina.

In the first inning, the leadoff batter, Maya Abrego earned a walk and was then driven in by an Alicia Corona double to get the Hawks on the board first.

A fourth-inning leadoff walk by Noemi Farfan paid dividends when a Mariner error allowed her to score from second.  

Medina once again spun a gem allowing only two MCU hits in the game. She was able to escape a last inning rally by the visitors getting the final out of the game with her ninth strikeout on the day.

The Hawks host a doubleheader against the University of Antelope Valley on Tuesday, February 22 at Sportsplex USA – Santee. First pitch is at noon.
