[Beach Volleyball] Beach Claims First Tri-Match Sweep at Famous Manhattan Beach
MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. – The #16 ranked San Diego Christian College Beach Volleyball team earned their first tri-match sweep on Friday against Ventura College and Marymount California. The victories move their record to 3-5 on the season.
In match one against Ventura College, Katie Call and Thea Snider easily defeated their opponents 21-13 and 21-15 to grab a big opening point.
The pairing of Eliana Cho and Aixa Crespo took a closer 2 set victory in the 3 spot as well posting a 21-19, 21-17 scoreline.
The match-clinching game for the Hawks came in the fourth when Megan Flores and Jessee Grubesic made a come-from-behind run after losing the first set 16-21 to take set two 21-16 and the final set 15-5.
Game two against Marymount California saw similar domination by Call and Snider as they took down the Mariner #1 team 21-13 and 21-10.
Indoor veterans Jessica Pinasco and Jewel McDonough cruised 21-6 and 21-9 to earn a second point for the Hawks.
The match victory was then sealed following a 21-6, 21-10 win by the team of Grubesic and Megan Flores, while the pairing of Malia Koloamatangi and Alyssa Aleman contributed a fourth with a 21-9, 21-8 takedown in the final game of the day.

The Hawks travel to the north county for a tri-match with the University of Saint Katherine and Mira Costa College on Friday, February 25. The first match begins at 9 am.
