[Men's Volleyball] Bees picked second in CCAC, receiving votes in NAIA poll
NAIA Men's Volleyball Coaches' Preseason Top 15 Poll
Coming off a strong close to the 2021 season, St. Ambrose has been picked to finish second in the CCAC in 2022. The Bees, who won 14 of their final 19 matches to end the 2021 campaign, are slotted behind defending conference champion Saint Xavier in this year's preseason conference poll.
The Bees also garnered some national attention, receiving votes in the NAIA Preseason Top-15 Poll. Reigning national champion Grand View is the top-ranked team in the national poll after collecting seven of the 13 first-place votes. Benedictine Mesa is second and Vanguard is third. Saint Xavier is ranked 10th. SAU received the fourth-most votes of those outside the top 15.
St. Ambrose, which finished 14-14 overall and 7-5 in the CCAC, will open the 2022 season at Quincy on Jan. 25. The team's home opener is Jan. 27 as the Bees open conference play by hosting Viterbo.
SAU will be tested by a challenging schedule this spring, playing seven teams that are either ranked or receiving votes in the national poll.
