Collapsing-UPDATED

The Yankees have now lost two games to a team that isn’t really trying to win. As I write this, the Blue Jays are up 7-1 in the 4th, the Red Sox are tied 0-0 in the second and the Mariners play in about four hours.

I’ll update as results come in, but barring a big turnaround by the Orioles, the Yankees are going to have everything on the line tomorrow and they are going to have to either start Cole on short rest, or patch a bullpen game together.

UPDATE- Toronto has won, so the Yankees lead them by 1 game.

UPDATE- In their critical game tomorrow the Yankees are not giving the ball to Cole but Taillon- the guy who left his last start with a gimpy ankle in the third inning. Good grief.

UPDATE- Boston won so they are in control of the wild card, a win tomorrow and they host on Tuesday. Yankees can still get in with their own win, but they need Boston to lose to have a shot at playing at home. Toronto is one back and Seattle has to win tonight to stay alive.
