Three wins in a row, looking for a fourth

The Oakland A’s and Los Angeles Angels are on to their third game in this weekend series in Anaheim, and the Halos are still searching for their first run. In fact, they didn’t even reach third base until the very end of last night’s game. It’s been wonderful.

The A’s pitching staff will look to extend its 18-inning scoreless streak, with Cole Irvin taking the mound. The lefty got knocked around by the Mariners his last time out, but before that he tossed seven scoreless frames against the Angels, so that’s an encouraging sign.

Meanwhile Oakland’s lineup hasn’t exactly been crushing it either, combining for just six runs on 10 hits in the first two games of the series. But when the opponent scores zero, anything is enough. Plus, the A’s just added two new hitters via trade — catcher Yan Gomes and utilityman Josh Harrison are both officially on the roster now, after a long list of corresponding moves this morning.
