WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University sophomore track & field/cross country student-athlete Aubry Donley (SO/Lincoln, Kan. ) has been selected as a finalist for the Greater Wichita College Female Athlete of the Year.
A two-sport standout, Donley captured the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championship in the 800 meter run (2:13.69) at the National Meet (Mar. 3-6) in Yankton, SD. She also won the 800 meter (2:21.81) conference championship at the KCAC Meet in February in helping the Falcons win their seventh straight conference indoor title.
A well-decorated student-athlete, Donley was named the KCAC Indoor Track Female Athlete of the Week (Jan. 18) while being a two-time KCAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week (Sept. 7, 2020, Sept. 21, 2020) earlier this season.
Donley also won the individual championship (20:25.66) at the Carol Swenson XC Invite to help the Falcons win the overall event before fueling the Falcons' runner-up finish at the KCAC Meet with a second-place showing individually with a time of 19:40.6.
The epitome of a student-athlete, Donley is heavily involved with the Friends University FCA program and earned a spot on the 2020 NAIA U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) All-Academic team. She also earned KCAC Scholar Athlete honors earlier this season.
The Falcons have previously enjoyed success at the ceremony, with track & field standout Chelsea Baker earning the same award in consecutive seasons (2017-18).
The winner will be announced at the 23rd annual Greater Wichita Awards Sports Banquet on July 1 at the Drury Plaza Hotel Broadview, with former Kansas City Chiefs star Dante Hall as the special guest.
