[Men's Outdoor Track & Field] Fye Named Men's Midwest Region Coach of the Year

Regional Athletes & Coaches of the Year for the 2021 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Doane Head Coach Ed Fye has been named the Men's Midwest Region Coach of the Year after guiding the Tigers to a conference championship this spring.

Fye, in his 19th season as head coach, guided Doane to the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Championship with 235.5 points, finishing 98.5 points ahead of the second place team. On the season, the Tiger men have posted 22 NAIA automatic qualifying marks for nationals and currently holds the No. 1 ranking in the USTFCCCA NAIA Ratings Index.

Doane will head to the NAIA National Championships next week in Gulf Shores, Alabama, in search to a strong finish to the season. The Tiger men finished 6th at the NAIA Indoor Championships in March.
