Report: Tim Tebow Expected to Sign with Jaguars

The deal is expected to happen sometime in the next week, and it will reunite Tebow with his former head coach Urban Meyer. The two obviously worked well together at the University of Florida, where they won two National Championships and Tebow took home a Heisman Trophy.

Of course, Tebow spent his time playing quarterback at Florida, and his days as a QB are over. He is expected to serve as a tight end with the Jaguars, and it remains to be seen if he can provide any value in that role. He declined the opportunity to play tight end in the past and chose instead to pursue a career in baseball. At 33 years old, it’s hard to imagine him making an impact for the Jaguars in 2021.

If anything, his biggest impact may come as a mentor for Trevor Lawrence. The No. 1 overall pick from the 2021 NFL Draft is currently listed at +270 on FanDuel Sportsbook to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
