Blue Jays OF George Springer Set To Make Season Debut on Wednesday
The Toronto Blue Jays have released their lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Nationals, and for the first time this season, George Springer’s name is penciled in. Springer will bat leadoff for Toronto but will serve as the designated hitter.

The former Houston Astro has battled multiple injuries since spring training beginning with an oblique strain. Just as that injury healed, Springer then sprained his hamstring. He’ll be excited to join a Blue Jays lineup that’s in second place in the American League East at 11-11. Springer hit 14 home runs last year in the pandemic-shortened season and 39 home runs in the 2019 season.
Toronto is as high as a -184 favorite in their series finale against the Nationals, with the total set at 9.5.
