Split so far, who will take the series lead?

The Oakland A’s and Tampa Bay Rays split the first two games of their four-game series. Now they’ll vie for the lead in the third matchup on Wednesday.

The A’s turn to Cole Irvin for the start. The lefty is coming off two successful outings, in which he allowed just one run total against the Tigers and Orioles, but he’ll get a bigger test against the defending AL champion Rays. As usual, their lineup looks nothing like it did yesterday against a righty, and also nothing like it did the day before against a different lefty, as Tampa Bay is constantly mixing and matching for every individual situation.

On the mound, the Rays call on Tyler Glasnow. The former top prospect is off to an excellent start this year, with a 2.05 ERA through five outings and an absurd 39.7% strikeout rate, or 13.5 K/9. He’s also not allowing walks or homers.
