Cardinals Place C Yadier Molina on the 10-Day IL
The St. Louis Cardinals announced that they had placed their future Hall of Fame catcher, Yadier Molina, on the 10-day injury list with a strained tendon in his right foot. The injury first surfaced last Friday against Cincinnati when Molina wasn’t able to finish the game. However, in classic Molina fashion, he would catch a complete game a few days later.
We have recalled C Ali Sánchez from the Alternate Site.

Molina was off to one of the best starts in his 19-year career. Through 19 games, he was hitting .323 with a .366 OBP and a .631 SLG. He’s already hit five home runs which is more than the four home runs he hit in 43 games last season.
The Cardinals are currently tied for second place in the NL Central with an 11-11 record as they’re two games behind the Brewers for the division.
