Mets vs. Phillies Postponed, Doubleheader Scheduled for Tuesday
The New York Mets announced that Monday night’s series opening matchup with the Philadelphia Phillies has been postponed due to rain.
The game will be made up as part of a single-admission doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon. The first game of the doubleheader will begin at 4:10 pm, and both games will be seven innings long.
Luis Rojas announced that Taijuan Walker will pitch in Game 1, and after throwing a side this afternoon, Marcus Stroman will pitch in Game 2.
Monday night’s originally scheduled starter, David Peterson, will now pitch Wednesday night, followed by Jacob deGrom to close out the series on Thursday.
This postponement of course comes just one day after the Mets had their series finale with the Miami Marlins suspended due to rain after just three batters. The Mets have now only played five of their ten scheduled games to begin the 2021 season.
