[Baseball] Tigers take a pair from the Eagles

0 7

Game one Tuesday was filled with pitching changes and some sloppy defense, game two was hard hits and highlight defensive plays. Georgetown College baseball took a pair of wins against Midway University at Robert N. Wilson Field – 7-4, 6-1. The two wins give coach Micah Baumfeld 300 in 9-plus seasons. He took over the team in 2011 and seven of his nine seasons have had 30-plus wins. The team has never been below .500 and his nine-plus includes the COVID shortened year with just 19 games, 11 of which GC had won.

Andrew Day started game one, got the win, scattering four hits with three earned runs and five strikeouts. He gave way to Nickolas Spencer for an inning and a third before Keon Taylor slammed the door on the Eagles (0-6).

Offensively, the Tigers (7-3) pounded out six hits and with the aid of five MU errors had seven runs. Dashon Moore led with two hits, while Joshua Duarte, Shota Usuda, Brandon Krennrich and Val Stammler each had one.
