Best NBA Player Props Bets for February 25

0 3

A six-pack of games on tap following a pair of busy nights in the NBA goes down on Thursday night. The 76ers and Mavericks tip-off the evening with a 7:00 p.m. ET start in Philadelphia. It’s Zion vs. Giannis as New Orleans, and Milwaukee gets the nationally televised late-night spot with a 9:30 kick-off in the Bucks backyard. Remember to lock those fantasy lineups early with the primetime hour start.

But don’t stop your fantasy fix there. Also, check out  FanDuel to put a team together for tonight’s hoops action. We came up a single Karl-Anthony Towns bucket short of our second straight undefeated night, but a 1-1 Wednesday is nothing to sneeze at as our record hangs at 36-21. As always, we stand behind our predictions, but take a look to see if any other players jump out at you by using the SportsGrid Player Prop Tool. Ensure you always check back throughout the day, as odds and projections may change with news and starting rotations. As always, our pals at the FanDuel Sportsbook bring you all the most up-to-date and stellar odds.

Denver Nuggets Jamal Murray vs. Washington Wizards

The Bet: Under 25.5 Points (-108)

Jamal Murray has been red-hot lately, firing well above his 21 points per game season average. The Nuggets guard’s recent success reaches beyond his ridiculous record-setting 50-point performance against Cleveland last week. Murray became the first player in NBA history to score 50 or more without attempting a single free-throw. It was also a regular-season career-best after the Canadian sharpshooter put up a pair of 50s in last season’s playoffs.

Beyond the half-century mark performance, Murray has put up at least 24 points in six-straight games averaging almost 32 a night over that span. One of the games in that stretch came against the very same Wizards the 24-year-old will see once again on Thursday night. Murray torched Washington for 35 points on 52 percent shooting while hitting five triples and going to the line five times. It was his second-highest total in this six-game stretch, following the historic 50-point performance. You can bet Jamal, like most players, is excited to get back out there against the Wiz.

Washington allows a league-high 119.9 points per game while in the bottom-eight in both three-pointers allowed and opponents’ field goal percentage. They also give up the sixth-highest three-point percentage to opponents in large part due to a team that has Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal defending the perimeter. While allowing 35 to Murray once again may not be on tap for Washington’s defense, they’ll still have an awfully tough time. Washington has to slow him down while also trying to contain a wizard of a passer in center Nikola Jokic and the fifth-ranked Nuggets offense.

Denver is a -7.5 point road dog, with the Moneyline sitting at a valueless -330. The FanDuel Sportsbook’s total is at a husky 238.5, so expect this one to be a shootout with Murray and the Nuggs doing plenty of the shooting.

Sacramento Kings Buddy Hield vs. New York Knicks

The Bet: Under 16.5 Points (-120)

Buddy Hield has taken a step back this year after averaging 20 points per game over the past two seasons. The fifth-year man out of Oklahoma has seen his scoring dip to 15.7 points per game despite playing nearly four minutes per game than last season. The 28-year-old is shooting career-worsts both from the field at 37.2 and from behind the arc at 36.4 percent. A far cry from Hield’s career-average of over 44 percent coming into this season. The Kings swingman has been wildly inconsistent, scoring at least 17 just twice in his past six while dropping games of five points against the Heat and eight vs. Memphis. While both Miami and the Grizzlies can defend, they are no New York Knicks.

The Knicks are the very best in the league at stifling their opponents. New York is allowing the fewest points in the league at just 103.8 per game. They also top the league in holding opponents’ field goal and three-point shooting percentages to NBA-lows. Hield leads the Kings taking twice as many three-points shots as any of his teammates as well as leading the team in three-pointers made. New York is well equipped to handle Sacramento’s shooter as not only are they efficient defending from three-point land but also rank ninth in fewest triples made per game. Expect a similar scene at MSG to when the Knicks held Hield to just 11 points on 36 percent shooting in Sacramento a month ago.

The Kings are +1.5 point road dog with a +102 Moneyline, so this one should be a closely contested affair. FanDuel’s Sportsbook has the total relatively high at 224.5, considering the Knicks defense, but Sacramento’s ability to score and inability to defend may even things out.
