[Women's Basketball] Sterling Downs Falcons in Regular-Season Finale
STERLING, Kan. -- The No. 10-ranked Sterling College Warriors jumped on top early and cruised to a 91-50 victory over the Friends University Falcons Saturday (Feb.20) in Sterling, Kan.
The Warriors set the tone early, scoring the first 28 points en route to a 33-5 edge after one quarter.
From there, Sterling maintained their grip as the closest the Falcons could climb was 29 in the early stages of the second quarter.
Bridget Busbee (SO/Grand Prairie, Texas) connected on 4-of-8 shots from the field to lead the Falcons with eight points. Khadijah Miller (SR/Arlington, Texas) added seven points, with five rebounds and three steals.
Taya Wilson and Sydney Bangert paced the Warriors with 14 points each, with Alexis Theus and Kylah Comley adding 12 points apiece.
The Warriors managed to shoot 47.8 percent (33-of-69) from the field, including 63.9 percent (23-of-36) in the first half. Sterling was 5-of-9 from the perimeter in the opening 20 minutes.
The Falcons will likely open the KCAC tournament on the road on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. (Feb. 23). Official tournament brackets will be revealed later this evening.
