[Men's Tennis] SAU opens spring slate with win at Dubuque

Back on the courts to start the spring season, St. Ambrose defeated the University of Dubuque 7-2 Sunday afternoon.

It was the Bees' second win over the Spartans this year and moved the team to 2-3 overall.

SAU took four of the six singles matches and swept the three doubles matches.

All four Bee singles wins came in straight sets. Matt Zuccato at No. 2 and Jacob Decker at No. 3 won by identical 7-6, 6-4 scores.

James Boustead won his match at No. 4 6-4, 6-3. Caleb Gaylor breezed to a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles.

Boustead and Gaylor also combined for an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.

Decker and Jack Schieferdecker won 8-4 at No. 1 doubles while Zuccato and Connor Leibforth escaped with an 8-7 win at No. 2.

St. Ambrose is next scheduled to host St. Francis (Ill.) on Feb. 20.
